Privacy Policy

Who we are

AuthorLuxe Studio is a trade name of Obelra, based in New Jersey. We design websites for independent authors and run Pre-Print Book Checks. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean AuthorLuxe Studio. You can reach us at hello@authorluxe.com.

What we collect

• When you send an inquiry: your name, email address, website (if you give one), genre, the package you're interested in and your message.
• When you order a Pre-Print Check: your name, email address, book title, genre, the check you want, your word count and anything you tell us in your message.
• Your files: the manuscript, proof or excerpt you send us through the secure link we provide.
• Payment: you pay through Stripe. Stripe collects your card or bank details; we see only the payment status, the amount and limited details such as the last four digits of a card.
• Emails you send us, and our replies.
• Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

We don't use advertising cookies or analytics trackers, and we don't buy or sell personal information.

How we use it

• To reply to inquiries and provide the services you ask for.
• To send invoices, take payment and keep business and tax records.
• To run your check, write your report and answer your questions about it.
• To keep the website secure and working.

We don't send marketing emails unless you ask to receive them.

Your manuscript and proof files

• Your files are used only for your check.
• Our checks run on software we built that uses third-party AI services. Those services process your files under terms that don't allow them to use your files to train their models. A person reviews every report before it's delivered.
• We never publish, sell or share your files, and we never use them as samples or examples without your written permission.
• We delete your files, including the copies made while running your check, within 30 days of delivering your report.
• We keep the reports we deliver and short working notes for your book, such as your style sheet and the list of findings (which quotes brief passages), so we can run later passes and answer questions. Ask us and we'll delete these too.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as each one needs:

• Stripe, to take payments and send invoices and receipts
• Resend and our email provider, to deliver email
• Vercel, to host this website
• A secure file-transfer service, to receive your files
• Third-party AI services, to run the checks
• Record-keeping tools we use to track orders (these hold order details such as your name, email and book title, never your manuscript text)

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long we keep it

• Manuscript, proof and excerpt files: deleted within 30 days of your report.
• Reports and working notes for your book: kept until you ask us to delete them.
• Inquiries, orders, invoices and payment records: kept as long as we need them for business and tax purposes, generally up to seven years.

How we protect it

Files reach us through a secure link, not by email attachment. We limit who can access your information and use reputable providers. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you send us.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@authorluxe.com. We'll reply within 30 days. Some states give their residents additional privacy rights; we honor those requests too.

Cookies and Do Not Track

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Because we don't track visitors across other websites, our site doesn't respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

Children

Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. If a change affects how we handle files you've already sent us, we'll tell you by email.
